While finishing up a business degree at Schreiner University in Texas, Jill danced lead in a ballet company. Dancing and her Liberal Arts education allowed Jill to nurture her creativity as well as connect to her artistic roots. Before dance, Jill’s creative outlet was showing horses, an art of its own. During her dance career, she began sculpting with her grandfather, Jim Reno, who is a renowned sculptor of Western Art. While he sculpted her image in arabesque – a rare departure from his usual style – Jill apprenticed with him and learned valuable techniques that would influence her future artistic endeavors.

Excited to explore the world of art, Jill journeyed to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and enrolled in sculpting classes at the Belles Artes. When Jill returned to Texas, Jill continued her studies with a focus in jewelry fabrication at Southwest School of Arts and Craft. Jill also became a flight attendant during this era to continue exploring my love of different cultures, which began when she studied through the International Study programs that were offered at Schreiner University. When Jill’s jewelry income grew so that she could take a company-offered leave of absence after 911, she jumped at the chance to travel with abandon.

Through many far-reaching excursions, Jill discovered extraordinary landscapes along with rare and beautiful gems. Jill poured these images and unearthed treasures into her work, and began collaborating with stylists for television shows and red carpet events. As Jill’s business and name grew, she developed a following that included local and international clients as well as celebrities. Both of which equally inspired her.

Jill’s life and work continues to present her with deep connections to wonderful people and places around the world. Jill strives to translate the heart of those cultures into her jewelry. Sharing this joy and beauty with others makes her job very rewarding.

Giving with a heart of love is very important to Jill’s life and business. Caring for the least is something deep rooted God placed in her as a young child. She is happy to be able to donate a portion of all Jill Reno Collection’s sales in monetary funds or in jewelry to various charities; especially to those focused on helping those most vulnerable.

From an early age, God revealed to Jill that, He is passionate about his love for her. When Jill read the scripture, “You stole my heart with one glance of your eye and one jewel of your necklace”, it resonated with her deeply, because of the gift God gave her in jewelry design. Jill’s hope is that you also know you are forever unconditionally loved by a God who is passionate about you.

Jill feels fortunate to get to pass on this legacy to her children.

A Grandfather’s Legacy

Growing up in Texas as the granddaughter of famed bronze sculptor, Jim Reno, allowed Jill to develop and refine her artistic abilities from a very young age. Seeing her grandfather’s work showcased at the White House and the entrance of the annual Kentucky Derby Horse Park inspired Jill to explore the possibilities of her natural talents.

My grandfather taught me that the best art provokes an emotional response. Every time I see someone’s face light up after looking at themselves in one of my pieces, I’m reminded of his words and spirit.
